Casa del Niño was founded on the 16th of June, 1985, as a non-profit organization. It came up as a response to the reality of many children that live in San Nicolás de Florencio Varela, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its aim was to provide a safe place for children, so they could keep away from the dangers they found on the streets. Therefore, Casa del Niño would become a shelter for them and a place to grow up in a healthy environment.
From its bbeginnings until today, we play a fundamental role in the lives of many children and their families.
Thanks to the support of the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement and to the unconditional generosity of many people, we have been able to build this non-profit house, that provides them the opportunity to grow with dignity and a sense of life. Nowdays, we shelter 300 children between 3 and 13 years old, educating them and providing a daily meal.
We rely on Our Mother’s blessing. We built a hermitage that protects all those who live and collaborate with Casa del Niño.
Our motto is “A child at home is one less child on the streets”.
May each child be respected as an individual and be accompanied and encouraged to discover their own talents in an atmosphere of love, joy, freedom and trust, growing in autonomy and social commitment.
Being a home that provides comprehensive support to children and their families.
To achieve the financial support for the institution.
To generate sustainable alliances with other institutions through integration and articulation projects.
To reinforce and strengthen bonding between family groups.
To accompany the systematic and interdisciplinary work that is done to attend the current problems that families face in this community.
